Our Story

One folding table, twenty years, one family. From a farmers market in Hightstown, New Jersey to the truffle woods of Umbria — here's how a no-shortcuts rule became fifty-plus flavors.

20+ years. One family. One standard.

It started with one folding table. In 2004, the family set up at a farmers market in Ramsey, New Jersey, with a handful of bottles and one rule: never cut a taste.

Twenty years later, we're still at that same market — and it's still the four of us: Jeff and Danny alongside their parents, Mike and Dee. We blend the flavors, pack the orders, and argue over every new batch (current debate: which coconut makes the cut). Every bottle is tasted before it leaves the kitchen.

When we say blueberry, we mean actual blueberries. Our balsamic is aged in Modena. And when we wanted the best truffles, we flew to the hills of Umbria and dug them out of the ground ourselves.

You'll find us at 30-plus shows a year, pouring tastes off the same kind of table we started on. (You'll run out.)

Why JD Gourmet
  • Real Fruit, Real Flavor

When we say blueberry, we mean actual blueberries — purées and juices, never artificial flavoring.

  • 20+ Years, One Family

Jeff and Danny blend the flavors and pack the orders — alongside their parents, Mike & Dee. One family, every bottle, since 2004.

  • Tasted Before You Buy

Find us at 30+ markets and shows a year. Taste every flavor, then reorder online. (You will run out.)

Real Fruit. Real Flavor.

Why your store-bought balsamic tastes like nothing.

Most flavored balsamic is caramel color and artificial flavoring. Ours is made with real fruit, blended in small batches — and once you taste it, you can't go back.

The JD way

Made with real fruit

  • Real fruit purées & juices
  • Modena-sourced balsamic base
  • Barrel-aged for real complexity
  • You can taste the actual fruit
Store-bought balsamic

Made with shortcuts

  • Vinegar with added flavor
  • Artificial flavoring, not fruit
  • One-note sweet, no depth
  • Tastes like… not much
Taste the difference

Real fruit, barrel-aged. You can drink it right out of the bottle.

In Their Words

Real words from real customers

Don't take our word for it.

Twenty-plus years of family-made balsamics and oils — and the reviews say it best. These are real customer words, unedited.

Bottles that go further than dinner.

Giving back

Bottles that go further than dinner.

Over twenty years we've sent bottles out the door for causes our family believes in — heart health, breast-cancer awareness, missing-children efforts on Long Island, local animal shelters, and the athletes' and golfers' tables we've been lucky enough to set. When someone calls, we usually say yes.
